Regional Water Quality
Coordinating Council

The Regional Water Quality Coordinating Council is a local advisory body to the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency on matters related to wastewater treatment, public water supply, and the water quality impacts of mining, agriculture, industry and waste disposal. Currently, the Council is involved with (but not limited to) the Illinois Lake Management Association, National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit reviews, facility planning area amendments, and the Illinois Volunteer Lake Management Program. The Council covers a ten county region. Please view the table below to note entities in the region that are eligible for representation on the Council.

The Council meetings are held on an as-needed basis and no more than once per month. Meetings are usually held at noon at the Greater Egypt Regional Planning and Development Commission (Greater Egypt) office in Marion, Illinois, unless otherwise advised.
